BPFT 2014: Expect touch of literature, music, Bollywood


Mumbai, Oct 29 (IANS): Fashion and glamour will get a creative push with hints of literature, music and Bollywood at the tenth edition of the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour (BPFT), which will travel to five cities next month.

Starting mid-November, BPFT will travel to Hyderabad, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Kolkata. Fashion designers will be complemented by some music bands like Ankur Tiwari, Ash & Ashvin, Boom Bay Central, Karsh Kale, MIDIval Pundits and Shaa'ir Func, who will do a especially curated LIVE music performance, said a statement.

The tour is poised to be a melange of music, design and technology, it was unveiled at a preview event here Wednesday.

Proud to celebrate a decade of "style, substance and excellence", Raja Banerji, assistant vice president, Pernod Ricard India, said: "This year we have tried to encompass style from various facets of art-forms along with fashion and glamour and have added literature, music, Bollywood in the mix."

The event presented a sneak peek into the creations of designers like Abraham and Thakore, Gaurav Gupta, Little Shilpa, Namrata Joshipura, Neeta Lulla, Pankaj and Nidhi, Rocky S, Shivan and Narresh, Suneet Varma and Varun Bahl.

Author Chetan Bhagat along with actor Boman Irani were also present to decode style in their inimitable ways.

Apart from Chetan Bhagat and Boman Irani, cricketer Wasim Akram along with Irrfan Khan will feature in the fashion shows.
