Upala KBR for Mid-day

It’s official! Madhuri Dixit has finally signed her comeback film with Yash Raj Films.

A few weeks ago, there was talk of her having signed her business manager, Rikku Rakeshnath’s home production, but the Yash Raj film will commence first.

A spokesperson from Yash Raj Films says, “Madhuri Dixit will be making her comeback in a film with the Yash Raj banner. The film will be directed by Anil Mehta (the director of photography for KANK, Veer-Zaara and Lagaan). The film will go on floors in January.

A week’s notice

Rakeshnath adds, “Madhuri is doing my home production, but I’m still looking for the right director and script. When Adi (Chopra) narrated his story to her, she immediately okayed the deal. Doing a Yash Raj film will be good for her as it’s a lead role. It’s always great to work with Yash Raj Films.”

Knowing the professionalism that the Chopras demand, it is learnt that all details for the film are in place, but no more information about the film is forthcoming from the Yash Raj office.

Rikku says that talks for the film had been going on for a while. “Then everything happened within a week. Madhuri loved the script so much that she instantly agreed. She will be coming to India soon as the entire shooting will take place here,” informs Rikku.

A lead actor is yet to be signed for the film, which is being touted as an out-and-out entertainer.

Baby talk

In an earlier interview to HiTLIST, Madhuri had spoken about being approached for a Yash Raj film, but hadn’t confirmed signing it.

She said, “Everything is at the discussions stage. It’s too early to talk about it. Only once everything is finalised will I be able to talk about it. I can’t be doing plenty of films as my babies are still very small. But yes, I would definitely like to do at least a couple of good films with good filmmakers.”

Looks like she’s finally found the right project, and we couldn’t be happier to see her light up the screen once again!
