Mumbai, Oct 10: Ryan D'Souza (16), son of Arun D'Souza and Maria Sequeira, the residents of Silver Park of Mira Road (E) drowned at China Creek beach along with six of his friends on Saturday October 7.

He  had gone on a picnic along with his friends to China Creek beach in Kashmeera police station limits of Thane district.

It was here that they got into the water for swimming, but got washed away in the deep water.  It is said that a couple of them had drowned in the water first and others met the watery grave in a bid to rescue each other.

However, no one knew about this tragedy.  Their bodies were in water for two days and some of them were partly disfigured. Ryan's last rites were held at St Joseph Church at Mira Road (E) on Sunday October 10 evening.

Ryan hailed from Moodu Ferar near Ganjimath near Mangalore.  He is survived by parents and a younger sister.
