Men spikers win, women lose at Asiad


Incheon, Sep 20 (IANS): The Indian men's volleyball team got off to a brilliant start by notching up a 3-1 win over Hong Kong in their opening Group C game at the Asian Games here Saturday.

Playing at the Ansan Sangroksu Gymnasium, Indian men needed just an hour and 29 minutes to beat Hong Kong 23-25, 25-18, 25-16 and 25-21.

However, the women were not so lucky as they went down 0-3 to hosts South Korea in a Group A encounter at the Songnim Gymnasium. India lost 2-25, 12-25, 13-25.
