Mangalore, Sep 28: ‘Horizon '06’, the state level inter-collegiate competition hosted by the department of business management of St Agnes College here was inaugurated on Sep 28 in the college auditorium.

At the grand ceremony, the K V Shanbagh, DGM, Syndicate Bank inaugurated the event. Speaking on the occasion, he called the students to yearn for the power of knowledge.

“Develop the habit of viewing good educational TV programmes. There is a need for building up good moral character which is the foundation of be becoming successful citizen,” said Shanbagh. He also cautioned the students not to fall prey to the attractions and addictions of the world.

Principal of the college Sr Carmel Rita highlighted the relevance of college fests in helping to bring out the talents of the students. She also unveiled the fest trophy on the occasion.

The inaugural session was followed by a colourful ice-breakers session.

A total of 10 colleges from various parts of the state participated in the event. Horizon also had participants from Bangalore, Belgaum, Kodagu and Udupi colleges.
