Dubai, Sep 18: It was a Fun filled and a memorable day to bring back the sweet memories of hometown to the Members of “Katapadi Konkans” who were gathered at Shezan restaurant to celebrate Monti Fest 2006.  The entire program was carried out in a traditional manner, and was witnessed by nearly 100 Katapadians and their guests.


Agnel D’Silva president, Katapadi Konkans extended a warm Welcome to all gathered. The event began with a hymn to Mother Mary which was sung by the members headed by Shalet Pinto and Anita D’Souza.

Senior Member Walter Monteiro led the procession with blessed new harvest (Novae) with little children to mark the traditional & customary occasion of offering flowers to Monthi Mai. Mr. Monteiro then conducted the prayer ceremony.  After the prayer the blessed harvest (Novae) was shared by the members and the guests with the spirit of togetherness & Love.



Games were organized for various age groups and also for couples which were enjoyed by all present there.  Baby Aviola Pereira and cascia Rodrigues performed dance on some catchy numbers which were foot tapping. The entire event was loaded with different entertainment items which kept the audience busy throughout the day.



The traditional vegetarian lunch was served by Shezan Restaurant a famous name in Dubai for its delicious Cuisine under the leadership of Franky D’Souza.

Steven Soares, cultural secretary was the Emcee of the entire program though games were conducted by individual members lead by Secretary  Agnel Rodrigues.  Vice President Shalet Pinto and Joint Secretary Anita D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks.

Well known Konkani Writer Nanu Marol graced the function as guests of honor.
