Bahrain, Sep 16: The Members of Konkani Kutam & Karnataka Social Club celebrated the “Monti Fest” in traditional flair on 15th September 2006 at Karnataka Social Club premises.  It provides a platform for the Mangalorean Catholics scattered all over the world to join together as a symbol of unity to reflect our culture & enlive our roots.



The Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Church Fr. Thomas Quadros accompanied with guest priests Fr. Robert Lasrado & Fr. Vincent Menezes blessed the New Corn.  The presence of Fr. Vincent Menezes, former editor of “Rakno” weekly & present Parish Priest of Miyar Parish was an added attraction.  All the Three Priests who spoke on the occasion signified the importance of “Monti Fest” which depicts Unity & Harmony.



Richard Moras, President of Karnataka Social Club & Convener of Konkani Kutam  addressed the gathering.  The entertainment began with a Group Dance by our little children ably choreographed by Priya Mascarenhas. 



The well known local singers Sydney Correa, Rony Fernandes, Muriel Gomes, Meena D’souza  & Thelma D’souza participated in singing.  The hilarious comedy skits were presented by Alwyn peres, Stany D’souza, George Menezes, Sujay Pinto, Vivian Rodrigues & Nelson Menezes.



Henry Almeida  compered the programme.  Sumptuous Lunch was served in Banana leaves.
