Mangalore: Desperate family seeks help for treatment of Jyoti Mendonca

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (CLP)

Mangalore, Aug 17: Jyoti and Alwyn Mendonca were a happy couple, blessed with two kids, living a normal family life. That is, until cancer struck and changed their lives completely.

Jyoti Mendonca (41), wife of Alwyn Mendonca, who hails from Shirva/Pilar, and presently living at Vashi Navi Mumbai, has been diagnosed with squamous carcinona, a sinusrelated cancer.

Tata Memorial Hospital, Parel, Mumbai, where she was examined for nasal bleeding, has diagnosed her condition as squamous cell carcinoma.

Alwyn used to work in a hotel as an accountant/administrator but had to leave the job to take care of his wife. The couple has two children, aged ten and two.

The family has no other source of income, and Alwyn at present is depending on money borrowed from friends to meet the medical expenses of his ailing wife.

The hospital has estimated cost the treatment to be around Rs 7-8 lac. The cancer is spreading to her brain, say doctors treating her.

Unable to cope with the situation and finding no other support, Alwyn has requested willing donors to extend help and enable his wife to live a normal life again.

A kind gesture from generous Daijiworld readers can reach a wound that only compassion can heal this family, Give what you have to someone, For it is in giving that we receive. If we are going to be kind, let it be out of simple generosity...
