Kuala Lumpur, Aug 9 (IANS): Malaysian Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai Saturday said a tripartite meeting between China, Australia and Malaysia will be held on Malaysia Airline flight MH370 that went missing March 8.
"After five months of searching for the missing plane, we would like to assure the next-of-kin of MH370 that our commitment to the search for this flight has remained consistent and has strengthened," Liow said.
Liow would be in Australia from Aug 19 to meet with Australian Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss and the relevant agencies and teams involved in the search for MH370.
Liow said Malaysia, together with Australia and China, announced that the contract to conduct a search of the southern Indian Ocean sea bed was given to Fugro Survey Pty Ltd (Fugro) Aug. 6.
He said various equipment and resources from all the related parties had been or would be deployed to carry out the search.
Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 with 239 passengers and crew on board went missing while flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing March 8.
The flight remains untraced till date despite intense international search efforts.
