Women's tennis: Easy for seeded players


Bangalore, Aug 4 (IANS): Second seed Fatma Al Nabhani of Oman along with Xi-Yao Wang of China, Nidhi Chilumula and Rishika Sunkara made confident progress into the second round of the Zuari Garden City Open ITF women’s tennis tournament here Monday.

Nabhani spent close to an hour on court to beat Arthi Muniyan of India 6-1, 6-2 while Chilumula packed off fellow-Indian Dhruthi Tatachar Venugopal 6-3, 6-1, Wang swept past Amrita Mukherjee 6-2, 6-3 and Sunkara knocked out Malayasian Theiviya Selvarajoo 6-4, 6-2.
