Brazilian striker Hernane joins Al Nassr

Rio de Janeiro, Aug 2 (IANS): Brazilian forward Hernane has signed a three-year deal with Al Nassr for a reported $7 million.

The Saudi Arabian club beat off interest from a number of rival suitors for the Flamengo striker, the local media said.

The deal was confirmed on Al Nassr's Twitter page Friday, reported Xinhua.

Hernane will join countryman and former Palmeiras midfielder Marquinhos Gabriel in Al Nassr's squad.

The 28-year-old scored 45 goals in 87 appearances for Flamengo, including 36 in 2013.

Flamengo will keep 50 percent of the transfer fee with the remainder divided between Hernane's former club Mogi Mirim and sports marketing firm Talents Sports.
