Javelin thrower Annu Rani finishes eighth


Glasgow, July 31 (IANS): India's javelin thrower Annu Rani finished eighth in a field of 12 in the women's event, touching a distance 56.37 metres, at the Commonwealth Games here Wednesday night.

The gold went to Kim Mickle of Australia, who threw the javelin to 65.96 metres, leaving silver medallist South African Sunette Viljoen, who reached 63.19. The bronze went to another Australian Kelsey-Lee Roberts who touched 62.95.
