Lajja qualifies for women's 50m rifle 3 positions final


Glasgow, July 29 (IANS): Indian shooter Lajja Gauswami qualified for the women's 50-metre rifle 3 positions final at the Commonwealth Games here Tuesday.

The 25-year-old Indian finished sixth with a total score of 571 points while Singapore's Jasmine Ser topped the qualifications with a total of 581 -- a new Games record -- at the Barry Buddon Shooting Centre.

However, it was the end of the road for Elizabeth Susan Koshy of Kerala who narrowly missed out on the cut finishing ninth. Only the top-8 make it to the finals which will be held later in the day.
