Mangalore, Aug 4: Farming work in the paddy fields is a rare sight these days, given the rapid tempo at which the process of urbanization has been taking place everywhere.

Rains do not hamper this monsoon edition of the farming work, since a good stock of water is a must at the time of 'transplanting' the seedlings. In the days of the yore, it was a rich experience to watch and listern to as the work went on in harmony with the refrains of 'O Bele, Kandada Bele' songs in Tulu.

Lured by the fast-lane income and lifestyle, many traditional agriculturists find their occupation less lucrative and opt for greener pastures. Nevertheless,  there are steadfast followers of the farming system still left.

If at all there is a sector which does not hold the country and the economy to ransom demanding higher wages, better living conditions and perks etc. it is the unorganized labour.

But the organized labour class would never like to think of these poor classes.  So these poor people are left to their lot.
