Facing Nigeria was a physical challenge: Deschamps

Brasilia, July 1 (IANS/EFE): France coach Didier Deschamps has described his team’s 2-0 win over Nigeria as a physical challenge.

France won the Round of 16 encounter at the Estádio Nacional Mané Garrincha here Monday to qualify for the quarterfinals where they will face Germany, reports EFE.

“We are now in the quarterfinals and we want to continue,” said Deschamps.

Deschamps refused to comment on his Nigerian counterpart Stephen Keshi’s allegations that the goal that Nigeria scored in the 18th minute and was deemed offside was correct.
