Nigerians urged to go all out to beat France

Lagos (Nigeria), Jun 30 (IANS): The Nigerian Senate has again urged the Super Eagles to go all out and beat the Blues of France in the 2014 World Cup Round of 16 match Monday.

President of the Nigerian Senate David Mark said in a statement Sunday the Super Eagles and officials should cultivate and sustain the team spirit they had displayed so far in the tournament in Brazil, reports Xinhua.

He said team work is the critical to excel in the competition.

Mark, who had earlier led the federal government delegation to the opening ceremony, showered encomiums on the Super Eagles for their successes and commitment to national duty.

He reminded them that they were not just flying the Nigerian flag but that of the African, a task, he said, should be defended with honour and dignity.

He expressed optimism that the Eagles would fly high if they worked together as a team with a common mission and purpose.
