All ex-Ranji players from UP to get pension


Lucknow, May 27 (IANS): All retired Ranji trophy players from Uttar Pradesh would now get pension, an official of Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) said Tuesday.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the working committee of the sporting body in Kanpur Monday. 

Under the new scheme, all the 61 ex-Ranji trophy players from the state would be given a one-time pension ranging from Rs.50,000-Rs.1 lakh.

The criterion for different bands would be decided on the number of matches and domestic outings in the tournament by a player, an office bearer said.
