Frankfurt defender Sebastian Jung joins Wolfsburg

Berlin, May 23 (IANS): Frankfurt defender Sebastian Jung has moved to league rivals Wolfsburg, both Bundesliga football sides.

The 23-year-old German international Thursday signed a four-year deal, which keeps him at the "Wolves" until June 2018, reports Xinhua. Jung and his new club Wolfsburg pulled the release clause of 2.5 million euros.

"We are delighted that Sebastian Jung has opted for Wolfsburg. He is a player with great prospects who will strengthen our team. His commitment gives us more options in our defence," said Wolfsburg manager Klaus Allofs.

Jung is a homegrown Frankfurt talent who played 15 years for the Eagles. He made his breakthrough into the first team in 2009 and scored since then four goals in 145 appearances.

"Wolfsburg is a club with excellent prospects. It wasn't easy to say goodbye from Frankfurt after such a long time but I am really looking forward to this new task," said Jung.

Wolfsburg completed the season on fifth place of the Bundesliga standings to clinch a spot in UEFA Europa League for the upcoming season.
