Amman, April 15 (IANS): Jordanian Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour Tuesday said that his government will take all measures to rescue its ambassador in Libya, state media reported.

Fawwaz Aitan was kidnapped in the Libyan capital city of Tripoli while heading to work, he added.

Some masked gunmen opened fire at the ambassador's car as he left his house, Ensour said, adding that the ambassador's driver was seriously injured in the incident.

The Jordanian government is coordinating with the Libyan authorities to identify the kidnappers, he added.
