Brazil's Curitiba World Cup stadium not yet ready

Rio de Janeiro, Dec 23 (IANS): Arena da Baixada, the most delayed of Brazil's 12 World Cup stadiums, reached 88.8 percent completion.

Images published by Brazilian news site Terra Sunday, showed the stadium still without turf, a roof or seating, reports Xinhua.

According to the site, the stadium will be ready by the end of March, three months after FIFA's original December 2013 deadline.

The venue in Brazil's southern city of Curitiba will host four matches during the World Cup next June and July.

Five other stadiums remain under construction with Arena da Amazonia in Manaus and Arena Pantanal in Cuaiba also causing concern among the organisers.
