Dubai, April 20: After the Easter bash, Konkani entertainment-lovers around the UAE are getting ready for a new season where plenty of entertainment programmes and parties are lined up at every weekend.

Konkani writers in the UAE, under the banner of  Daijidubai, who started their journey and put a firm foundation for the new revolution in the Konkani world are monitoring the countdown for the seventh anniversary programme at 4 pm on April 21 in the Emirates English Speaking School near the Safa Park.

The organizers have confirmed that no more invitations would be issued as a 'Full House' crowd is expected. About four-hour-long variety programme will have 'Mandd Sobhann' as prime entertainment and 'Lekh Tem Lekh-uch', a one-hour-long Konkani play written by Mickmax, and directed by Hemacharya

"We are giving final touches to the preparations. Eric Ozario and other musicians have already arrived from India. Their rehearsals are going on in full swing. There are a good number of enquiries for invitations at the last moment as usual. We are trying to accommodate as many as possible. we do not want to disappoint anyone as Mandd Sobhann is being staged the first time in the Gulf," Say the organizers.

Saira Menezes, a well-known journalist, Karnataka Konkani Academy president Eric Ozaro, and Mangalorean entrepreneur and great supporter of Konkani cause in Doha will be the guests of honor.

"We have received solid support for our programme from our sponsors. Merit Freight Systems of Joseph Mathias is the key sponsor," they have said.

"Entrepenurers and executives have helped us in many ways, and that's how we have been able to present an award of Rs 50,000 in cash to a veteran Konkani writer," said Hemacharya, the convener of Daijidubai.

Victor Rodrigues, winner of this time's Daijidubai literary award, has also arrived from Mangalore and will receive the award in person.

As a contribution to the Konkani literature, popular multilingual author Stan Ageira's book "Tambddi Mirsang" will be released on the occasion. The book has been published by Ujwal publication.

Stan Ageira's other short book 'Bindas' was released recently in Mangalore. The column is very popualr among the daijiworld readers. Both 'Tambddi Mirsang' and 'Bindas' will be available for sale during the programme.

Dayan D`Souza, founder of Daijidubai writers forum, will be felicitated for his contribution to the society and literature.

Enthusiastic Pernalites will present tradition 'Gumttam Show', which will be an added attraction at the beginning of the programme.
