Mangalore, Mar 18: A two-day national-level seminar ‘Manthana 2006’ was organized by the Srinivas Institute of Management Studies here on Friday March 17. The seminar will see the participation of a number of students from nearly 9 colleges.

The purpose of the seminar is to update the participants with the recent trends and challenges in the field of Human Resource, informed Prof Sriram Karanth, coordinator, Srinivas College HR Faculty. 

Inaugurating the seminar K M Lokanath, chairman, Veera Vahana Udyog Pvt Ltd (Bangalore), said that human resource personnel have a bright future as the HR scenario has had a drastic change in the recent years. In spite of several existing and rising problems, the country has a vast potential for HR. Sincerity, hard work, good communication and dedication with a passion towards work will put the HR personnel on top, he added.

He further said on the one hand if the youth in the country who are more than 50 per cent in number, are a boon to the nation, the politicians and others in authority have ruined the nation.  He also credited the British for forming a base to the progress achieved by the country, stating that it would not have been possible otherwise.

A Srinivas Rao, president, Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), urged to develop human resources in a competitive manner.

Also present on the occasion were Dr Licyamma, coordinator, MSW Course, Dr P S Aithal, principal and A Raghavendra Rao, president, A Shama Rao Foundation.
