Mumbai, Mar 7: Noted Konkani theatre artiste "Hasanatullo to piso" fame William Machado was honoured with "Pintam Derebail" memorial Artiste of the Year award instituted by the "Konkan Kalakar Mumbai" Saki Naka group. This is the maiden award of this organization.

The award ceremony was held on March 5 in St Antony's Church hall,  Saki Naka. Assistant parish priest Fr Nelson Saldanha honoured Machado with fruits, flowers and shawl and a citation. "Padri" Konkani film producer Raymond Quadras honoured him with a momento. President of the organization John Sequeira read out the citation.

Sangit Samrat Henry D'Souza, musician Victor Concessao, dramatist Harry Boy and journalist Lawrence Coelho were also present at the dais.

John Sequeira welcomed the guests in the beginning. Vice president Leo Fernandes introduced the guests. Secretary Peter Pais read the report. Treasurer William Fernandes gave a vote of thanks. The programme was compered by young artiste Karen Sanctis.
