Mangalore, Feb 19: A continuing medical education on respiratory disorders was organized by the Karnataka Board of Homoeopathic System of Medicine at Fr Muller Charitable Institutions on Sunday February 19.

Karnataka Board of Homoeopathic System of Medicine president Dr Veerabramhachary who inaugurated the programme stressed on the need to give importance to the Homoeopathic system of medicine in the State.

Every taluk should have a 10-bed Homoeopathic hospital and the district headquarters should have a 25-bed hospital. Further, a Homoeopathy wing should also be set up in all the primary health centres throughout the State, he said. These measures will help Homoeopathy reach all the people.

The few Homoeopathy dispensaries in the State need to be increased, there will be rise in the number of doctors willing to serve in the dispensaries. This, Veerabramhachary said would go a long way in creating job opportunities for Homoeopathic students.

Alva's Education Foundation chairman Dr Mohan Alva said that Homoeopathy is next only to the Allopathic medicines and must be promoted.

Fr Muller Institutions director Fr Baptist Menezes presided over the programme. Dr Abraham Zachariah, Fr Stanley Tauro and well-known homeopathic doctors were present on the occasion.
