National Seminar on Yoga on February 18

Mangalore: The Department of Human Consciousness and Yogic Sciences, Dharmanidhi Yoga Peetha in Mangalagangotri and Yoga Practiti0ners Association of India, will jointly organize a national seminar on ‘Yoga therapy for Sadayurarogya’ on Saturday February 18, at the Old Senate Hall at Mangalagangothri here.

Mangalore university is the only university in the state, to offer a post-graduate course in yogic sciences and the seminar of the kind is being held for the first time.

Debates at the seminar will be held in English as well as Kannada, for which yoga practitioners from across the nation will participate, a release stated. 

Experts will present papers on treatment of common ailments. The seminar will be useful for yoga practitioners and the general public interested in yoga.

Speeding Tempo Kills Eight-Year Old Girl Near Manjeshwar

Mangalore:  A third standard student was knocked down by a speeding tempo while crossing the road and was killed on Thursday February 9, at Manjeshwar in the neighbouring Kasaragod district..

Eight-year old Sripriya was returning home when the accident occurred, after delivering lunch to her mother working as a nurse in a clinic at Manjeshwar.

Sripriya succumbed to her injuries on the way to the hospital.

A case has been registered. 

Man ends life out of dejection

Mangalore: Neelayya (32), from Mogaru near Bajpe ended his life hanging himself from the roof at home on Thursday.

Police sources said he was addicted to drinks and also dejected for having no steady job.

He ended his life while no one was around at home.
