Mangalore, Feb 9: Bharath Beedi Works Pvt Ltd, Mangalore celebrated its platinum jubilee on Wednesday February 8. Syndicate Bank chairman and managing director Kantha Kumar inaugurated the celebrations while Corporation Bank chairman and managing director V K Chopra unveiled the portrait of Manjunath Pai, the founder of Bharath Beedi Works Pvt Ltd.
Speaking on the occasion, Chopra appreciated the efforts made by the company and also lauded the initiative to provide employment opportunities to the people. The company provides employment to about 50,000 people, which is the biggest contribution to the country, he said.
Bharath Beedi Private Ltd chairman and managing director Ganapathi Pai, C R Kamath and others were present on the occasion.
