Mangalore, Jan 30: "Completing 50 years is indeed a great achievement.  This is a time to think about the past and prepare to face the future more boldly.  It is also the hour to remember and recognize all the persons who have contributed their time and resources in last 50 years to make this dream come true. He was speaking during the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of "Kalaniketan School of Music and Dance" in the city on Sunday January 29.

He further said that support and encouragement from the parents and teachers, commitment to the given task and an apt forum to exhibit one's talent gives a opportunity to blossom.

Dr Vasant Kumar Perla, in-charge director, Akashvani Mangalore was the chief guest of the function.  In his speech, he applauded Kalaniketan for upholding the Indian culture and traditions by imparting music and dance lessons to the students.  He also congratulated the principle and staff of Kalaniketan School of Music and Dance on the occasion of its golden jubilee.

Renuka, wife of Karnataka Bank chairman Anantakrisha presided over the function. Principal Gopalkrishna Ayyar, coordinator U Narasimha was also present on the occasion.

Savitri Ramrao delivered the introductory note while Mukund Prabhu welcomed the gathering.  Narayan Damodar compered the programme.
