IBL names U-19 players for franchises


New Delhi, Aug 2 (IANS): The Indian Badminton League (IBL) Friday named five of the six Under-19 promising players for its franchises.

According to IBL rules, each franchisee must include one promising India Under-19 shuttler in addition to those bought at the auction. The players were chosen by each franchisee from their respective catchment area.

The following is the list of the players: Harsheel Dani (Mumbai Masters), Utkarsh Arora (Delhi Smashers), Revathi Devasthale (Pune Pistons), C. Rahul Yadav (Hyderabad Hotshots), Daniel Farid (Banga Beats).

The sixth franchisee, Awadhe Warriors, is in the process of finalising the young player and the name will be announced shortly.

The $1 million IBL will be held Aug 14-31.
