Suratkal, Jan 29: As part of Nehru youth Centre inter-state youth exchange programme, a delegation of 24 members from Mizoram has arrived at Sasihitlu to study and exchange on culture and other aspects of Sasihitlu and surrounding areas. The delegation will be here till Tuesday, said centre sources. The team would visit Thokur, NMPT, Karavali Utsav (Sunday) and also participate in a debate programme with Mulki Vijaya College students on Monday.

The programme has been arranged jointly by Nehru Youth Centre Mangalore, Old Students' Association Sasihithlu, Sasihithlu Youth Club, Sasihithlu Women's and Navodaya Women's Club.

The delegation, from Minglay district of Mizoram, who have been here since for the past two days, expressed happiness over visiting Sasihitlu, which has both river and sea sides in its close proximity and its pleasure climate. The delegation also visited some of the houses in the vicinity and accepted some of the mouth-watering dishes offered by the house members. They also took part in anniversary celebration of Surathkal, Sadashiv Nagar, Sagar Youth Club.

In a group of 34, 14 are women members in the delegation, that include students, teachers and traders. Only few could converse in Hindi and English as most of them knew only Mizo language. The delegation is led by R Lalthan P and Kavelthanga L. 

A similar kind of exchange programme was organized by Mangalore centre where 35 members took part to Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland in 2003.
