Karkala, Jan 28: In a sudden fire mishap in one Leela Bhandarti's house at Nandalike near Belman here, the bathing room of the house was gutted resulting in a loss of Rs 50,000 on Friday January 27.
The mishap took place at 6.30 in the evening when the bathing room caught fire. As usual, fire was lit to boil water in the cauldron. But a spark flew over the hey which was stored near the bathing room. Immediately the fire spread with huge flames.
Immediately the news was passed on to the fire brigade. Timely intervention by the fire brigade prevented a major fire mishap, as the cowshed and the house were near the bathing room.
A complaint has now been registered by Karkala police in this regard.
