Downey Jr friend in need

Los Angeles, Jun 5 (IANS): Robert Downey Jr may be a big name in filmdom, but he doesn't shy away from helping friends. Recently the actor tried to bail out an old pal, who refused to take the help.

The 48-year-old met an old friend, who was once a struggling actor, but now sells Ginsu knives at a local market for living. The actor offered him some financial help for old time's sake.

"Robert offered to help him out with money but he refused", dailystar.co,uk quoted a friend as saying.

"So instead he got 10 people he knew to visit the market and bought all the knives that were on sale. He generously footed the bill of course, which added up to almost 4000 pounds," the source added.
