Masaba's wish to dress Jiah remains unfulfilled


Mumbai, Jun 4 (IANS): Masaba Gupta is in a state of grief after the sudden demise of Nafisa alias Jiah Khan as the young designer had plans to design for the late actress soon.

"God bless you. We will meet in another life until then stay blessed. Spoke to Jiah two months back and I promised I would dress her soon. I don't know what it was that was more important than her life. RIP," tweeted Masaba who was also creative head of brand Satya Paul.

Jiah, who debuted in Bollywood opposite Amitabh Bachchan in "Nishabd", committed suicide at her residence in Mumbai's Juhu area, police said Tuesday. She was 25.

The Britain-born actress was found hanging at her flat in Sagar Sangeet building in the posh Juhu area of northwest Mumbai around midnight. The cause of the suicide is not yet clear, police said, adding that autopsy reports were awaited.

"We will hope your free now. And in a better place. God bless. RIP, " Masaba Gupta further tweeted.

News of her death was first reported by actress Dia Mirza through a social networking site around 1.45 a.m. The body of the actress was taken to the Cooper Hospital in Vile Parle Monday night and later shifted to J.J. Hospital in Byculla.
