Mumbai: Billava Association celebrates Women's Day

Mumbai, Mar 9:
“The family life of every woman will be content if she has culture, education and health. To get their rights and respect in the society, women need to fight unitedly,” said Dr Geethanjali K Amin.
 
She addressed the gathering during International Women’s Day celebration organized by the women’s wing of Billava Association held at Billava Bhavan in Santacruz (east) on Friday March 8.

The programme which was organized under the leadership of Shakunthala K Kotian, president of women’s wing, was presided over by the association vice president Nithyananda Kotian who inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.
 
M B Kukkyan, editor of Akshya monthly, Nalini Kotian, retired headmistress, Rohini J Salian, vice president of Bharat Co-operative bank, higher officer Chitralekha D Suvarna were the guests of honour.
 
“Those who love their mother will love their society too,” said M B Kukkyan. He urged the people to respect women.
 
Members of the women’s wing offered flowers and Arasina Kumkum to the guests as a part of the celebration.
 
As part of the entertainment, various cultural programmes were presented by members of the women’s wing. Hundreds of women participated in the celebration which was a grand success.
 
Dharmesh S Salian, Sumathi Bangera compered the programme while Chandrakala Suvarna delivered the vote of thanks.
 
Jayanthi Ullal, former president of women’s wing, Mohini Vasudeva Kotian, Vasanthi Saliankar, Hemavathi M Kotian, Srimanthi Poojary, Leela CT Salian, Prabha K Bangera, Babi Kukkyan, Vanaja Anchan among others were present.
