Van Damme's Statue Unveiled in Homeland

London, Oct 26 (IANS): Actor Jean-Claude Van Damme has been honoured with a bronze statue in his native Belgium.

The 52-year-old actor was joined by his mother Eliana and father Eugene at the unveiling of the statue Oct 21. The statue has the actor standing in a fighting pose, reports contactmusic.com.

"Belgium is paying me back something, but really it's to pay back to the dream. So when people come by here, it is Jean-Claude Van Damme but it's a guy from the street who believed in something. I want the statue to represent that," Van Damme said.

The actor was last seen in "The Expendables 2".
