Bidar, Oct 6 (IANS): Top seed Wing Yau Venise Chan of Hong Kong lived up to her billing as she lifted the Ashok Kheny $10,000 ITF Bidar Open women's futures tennis championship singles title here Saturday.

Chan triumphed with an emphatic 6-2, 6-3 victory in the final over unseeded Yumi Miyazaki of Japan at the police training school courts.

Chan proved too good for an erratic Miyazaki in the title contest which lasted little over an hour. The match was marked by long rallies but the 23-year-old Chan came out on top in the baseline duel belting ground strokes with power and accuracy.

The 650th ranked Miyazaki had her chances in the match when she broke her rival couple of times but failed to maintain the momentum.

In the first set, the 371st ranked Chan broke her rival in the first and fifth games taking a 4-1 lead. Miyazaki struck back in the sixth game to cut the deficit to 2-4. But Chan rallied to hold her serve and took the first set.

The second set also followed a similar pattern. Chan broke the Japanese in the first and fifth games to gain a 4-1 lead.

Though Miyazaki forced two more breaks in the sixth and eighth games, her own serve came under relentless barrage of winners from Chan and she dropped the set and match.

Chan got richer by $1,568 while runner-up Miyazaki received $980 dollars.

"I am very happy to win here. Though the score line looks easy, Miyazaki fought for every point and I hope to keep up my good form in the forthcoming tournaments as well," said the winner.
