Geeta to Lead India in World Wrestling Championship


New Delhi, Sep 25 (IANS): Commonwealth Games gold medallist Geeta Phogat will lead India's challenge at the World Women's Wrestling Championship to be held at Edmonton, Canada Sep 26-29.

Geeta, who participated in the London Olympics, will take part in her regular 55-kg freestyle category.

She was presented the Arjuna Award in August.

Other wrestlers who will be taking part in the event are Priyanka Singh (48 kg), Babita Kumar (51 kg), Shilpi Sheoran (59 kg), Sakshi Malik (63 kg), Navjot Kaur (67 kg), and Gurusharan Preet Kaur (72 kg).
