Mumbai, May 29: The whole Province as well as Anubhav and St Joseph parish community rejoiced on the occasion of the solemn profession of Br Nitesh Rodrigues, Br Kaushik Parmar, Br Daniel Christian, and Br Cannio Cardozo. The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Bishop Agnelo Gracious along with the Karnataka Goa Provincial Fr Archiebald Gonsalves at 5 pm on Sunday May 27.

More than 15 priests concelebrated in the Eucharist. The Bishop, in his homily, explained the meaning of profession as well as well as the deeper meaning of three evangelical vows. It was a much-awaited day in the life of these four young brothers as they made their perpetual commitment in the hands of their Provincial Fr Gonsalves after several years of spiritual preparation through Carmelite formation. The young brothers promised the Lord to live in poverty, chastity, and obedience to the end of their life serving God and his flock in the Carmelite fraternity.

After the Eucharistic celebration, there was a short felicitation programme in the church. Parish priest Fr Dominic Vas gave a short introduction about all the four brothers and then solemnly professed. The brothers were congratulated with a bouquet of flowers by their parents. Later, Fr Gonsalves in his speech thanked their parents as well as benefactors and well-wishers. Br Daniel Christian proposed the vote of thanks. The celebration culminated with the agape meal.
