Mangaluru, Oct 18: The police have arrested Fr Cyprian Pinto, a priest of a church in Valencia here, on charges of sexually harassing minor boys. He was apprehended from a relative's house.
The arrest was made in connection with a case registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at the Pandeshwar police station in the city.
The action followed a complaint lodged by the victims with the Child Protection Directorate, accusing Fr Cyprian Pinto of sexual harassment. Based on this complaint, the police had registered an FIR and have now taken the accused priest into custody for further investigation.
