Mumbai, Oct 12: Ryan Group of Institutions marked a milestone in its longstanding partnership with Rotary Club as  Ravishankar Dakoju took charge as the District Governor of Rotary International.

On this occasion, the group announced its ambitious 1 million tree plantation drive, a year-long sustainability initiative across 10 cities including Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai, Jaipur, Delhi, Surat, Bolpur (West Bengal), Kochi, Chennai, and Hyderabad, aimed at inspiring communities towards environmental responsibility.

The initiative was ceremonially flagged off simultaneously across all Ryan campuses, symbolising a shared commitment to environmental stewardship, community service, and nation-building. More than a one-day event, the plantation drive marks the beginning of a year-long green movement, with saplings set to be planted and nurtured throughout the academic year 2026–27 across Ryan's extensive network of schools.

As part of this movement, and in keeping with chairman Dr A F Pinto's vision — “Each One, Plant One” — a native tree plantation drive was conducted on October 7 by Ryan International School, ICSE, Kharghar, in association with the Rotary Club of Navi Mumbai Sunrise and Panvel Municipal Corporation.

The initiative held special significance during the Golden Jubilee year of Ryan Group, marking five decades of nurturing responsible, compassionate and socially conscious young citizens.

The drive was held at Gram Vikas Bhavan Vegetable Market, Sector 21, and CIDCO Garden, Sector 4, Kharghar, where 50 students each from grades 10 and 11 participated enthusiastically and contributed to the planting of 50 native trees.

By integrating environmental action with education, the group is empowering young people to become active participants in building a more sustainable future.
