Annual feast celebrated at St Mother Teresa Church, Paldene, Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Oct 11: The annual feast of St Teresa Church, Paldene, Mangaluru, was celebrated with great devotion and grandeur on Sunday, October 11.

The festive Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Fr Dennis Alexander D'Souza, from the Mother Church of the Udupi Diocese. In his homily, he recalled the value-based life of St Mother Teresa, the patroness of the church, and encouraged the faithful to embrace her ideals in their daily lives.

He said that the life of St Teresa, who dedicated herself to serving the poor, the destitute and the needy, remains an inspiration to everyone. He added that the faithful of Paldene Church were blessed to have such a patron saint.

He urged the congregation to offer thanksgiving to god, reflect on their lives and extend a helping hand to those around them. He encouraged everyone to serve the sick, the poor and the hungry in every possible way, emphasising that genuine prayer and selfless service bring blessings and make life more meaningful and joyful.

The eucharistic celebration was attended by Fr Melvin D'Cunha, Fr Robin Lopez, Fr Santhosh Rodrigues, Fr Rocky D'Cunha, Fr Paul Pinto and other priests.

The parish priest of Paldene Church, Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, participated in the Eucharistic celebration and expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the annual feast. Fr Joseph Coelho was also present.

Church vice-president Elias Fernandes, secretary Roshan Montiero, spiritual coordinator William Lobo, choir president Lizzy Fernandes and others were present on the occasion.

The main feast sponsors, Melvin Dsouza, Reema D'Souza, Olivia D'Souza and Melroy D'Souza, were honoured during the celebration. Various stalls were also organised by ICYM (Indian Catholic Youth Movement) groups as part of the festivities.
