Mangaluru, Oct 5: Srinivas University unveiled SRI NOVA, a national-level intercollegiate fest exclusively for Pre-University students, at a special Fest Launch and Invitation Unveiling programme held at the City Campus, Pandeshwar on 5th October 2026. The fest is scheduled to be held on 30 and 31 October 2026 across three campuses of Srinivas University – City Campus, New Campus and Aviation Campus.
The programme was presided over by Prof Er. Mitra S. Rao, trustee member, Board of Governors, Srinivas University. Vijayalakshmi R Rao, trustee member, Board of Governors, was the guest of honour.









In her presidential address, Prof Er Mitra S Rao said that SRI NOVA is an initiative organised by the students of Srinivas University, providing them with an opportunity to demonstrate their organisational and hospitality skills. Emphasising the Indian tradition of “Atithi Devo Bhava,” she said that the students would extend hospitality to visiting Pre-University students and create a meaningful intercollegiate fest experience for them.
Vijayalakshmi R Rao, guest of honour, appreciated the initiative and said that the event would provide an opportunity for Srinivas University students to showcase their organisational skills and capabilities. She wished the students success in conducting the fest on a large scale.
Introducing SRI NOVA, Dr Pavitra Kumari, Dean, Institute of Aviation Studies and Convenor of the fest, said that the fest is designed as a national-level intercollegiate platform for Pre-University students. She explained that SRI NOVA will feature a diverse range of events covering cultural, sports, hospitality, management and technical disciplines, providing participants with opportunities to showcase their talents and skills.
A special highlight of the programme was the unveiling of the SRI NOVA name by Prof Er Mitra S Rao, Vijayalakshmi R Rao and Samana S Rao. Students also presented a vibrant flash mob, adding colour and energy to the launch programme.
Dr Venkatesh Amin, dean Institute of Management & Commerce highlighted the significance of the initiative and extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries, faculty members and students. The programme was anchored by Prof Elson D’Souza, while Prof B Prashanth Prabhu, dean Institute of Hotel Management & Tourism proposed the vote of thanks.
Samana S Rao, trustee member, Board of Governors, Srinivas University, Dr Thrishala Noronha, dean Institute of Physiotheraphy, Dr Pranjali Mhatre, dean Institute of Occupational Theraphy and Dr Subramanya Bhat, dean Institute of Computer Science & Information Science were present on the occasion.
SRI NOVA will bring together pre-university students from different institutions for a two-day celebration of talent, creativity, competition and learning across the three Srinivas University campuses.
