Oh Putta sad to hear about your demise so early.Parents too must take care when sending through the river ?Or atleast wear a swimming ring around the waist when crossing. Is only suggestion .May God give your soul a good dry and happy place in Heaven .Heartfelt sympathies to Parents. With all these disasters every year why the community or Panchayat take any steps to prevent this ?Partly they are responsible for the community ,not only collect votes.and big Promises.Do they have voice now?

I am referring to Kaibattal before its development. Major portion of Kaibattal was owned by 3 families. The Doctors family came later. 2 kids were washed away. One body was recovered nearby, the other was recovered from Bejai. As as I remember there were 5 - 6 open wells without walls from which water was drawn by wooden vessel, do not know the name. Moreover there were 4 - 5 lakes. Almost every year 1 - 2 kids were drowning. This goes back to 70 years.

I am from Kadri Kaibattal a place surrounded by water bodies & rapids. My grandfather, a 1st World War veteran made all the kids learn swimming. I trained my kids to be ace swimmers. So many accidents & deaths. Swimming should be made compulsory in all Schools. It is possible. It is sad to note schools do not have swimming pools.

Kadri Kaibattal is not naturally surrounded by rapids or major water bodies. The locality features the historic Kadri Kaibattalu pond (near the Doctors Colony) and the nearby Jogimath pond. It sits adjacent to the ancient Kadri Manjunatha Temple complex, which is famous for its natural underground water springs (Gomukha) feeding nine historic purification ponds.
