Mumbai, Aug 28: Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh-starrer Alpha is now streaming on Netflix from August 28, following its theatrical release on July 3.
Touted as Yash Raj Films’ first female-led action film, Alpha features Alia as Sita and Sharvari as Durga. The film also stars Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles.
The film had a moderate run at the box office, earning Rs 58.86 crore net in India, while its India gross collection stood at Rs 70.05 crore. Its overseas earnings were reported at Rs 29.05 crore, taking the worldwide gross to Rs 99.10 crore, according to trade tracker Sacnilk.

Alpha received a 2.5/5 rating from India TV. The review praised the film’s stylish action sequences, large scale and production values, while noting that Alia and Sharvari had put considerable effort into their action roles. Bobby Deol was also praised for his performance, while Hrithik Roshan’s appearance as Kabir was described as a highlight.
However, the review observed that the film’s emotional impact was limited despite its story revolving around two sisters. It also noted that the screenplay did not fully utilise the potential of the central characters and the Alpha drug storyline, while some of the twists were predictable.
With its theatrical run now over, Alpha is available for audiences to watch on Netflix.
