Yenepoya Nursing College welcomes freshers with Deeksharambh programme

Mangaluru, Aug 19: Yenepoya Nursing College, Yenepoya Deemed to be University, organised the Deeksharambh programme on August 19, to welcome and orient I year BSc, PBBSc, and MSc nursing students to their academic journey.

Dr Gangadhara Somayaji K S, vice chancellor, Yenepoya Deemed to be University, was the chief guest, with Dr Aswini Dutt R, registrar, as the guest of honour. Dr Leena K C, principal, and Dr Priya Reshma Aranha, vice principal, Yenepoya Nursing College, were present.

The programme began with an invocation by Ibrahim, IV BSc nursing student, followed by a welcome address by Dr Priya Reshma Aranha. Addressing the gathering, Dr Gangadhara Somayaji K S highlighted nursing as a noble and evolving profession and encouraged students to utilise the university facilities and opportunities to develop academic and professional competence. Dr Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi, honourable chancellor, Yenepoya Deemed to be University, conveyed his greetings and welcomed the new students virtually.

Dr Aswini Dutt R emphasised the importance of empathy and compassion in nursing and highlighted the expanding professional opportunities in the healthcare sector. Dr Leena K C delivered the presidential address and encouraged students to uphold professional values, discipline and compassion throughout their academic and professional journey.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Binsha Pappachan C, UG coordinator, Yenepoya Nursing College. The event marked an inspiring beginning for the students, motivating them to pursue their nursing education with dedication, confidence and a commitment to excellence in healthcare.
