Mangaluru, Aug 18: The auditions for the much-anticipated dance championship, Mogachi Lahran – Naach Baila Naach Season 3, organised by ML Productions under the leadership of Vincent Fernandes, Cascia, concluded successfully at Sahodaya Hall, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru.
Designed to celebrate regional dance talent, rhythm and Konkani culture, the audition round witnessed enthusiastic participation from married and unmarried couples aged 16 and above from across Dakshina Kannada and Udupi.
The event was officially inaugurated by Dr Praveen Martis SJ, vice chancellor of St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), alongside Roy Castelino, PRO of the Diocese of Mangalore; Walter Monteiro, managing director of Cila Advertisers; and Stany Bela, production director of Daijiworld Media Network.
Lauding the initiative, Dr Praveen Martis said hosting the Baila championship on campus is a momentous occasion that will energise dance couples and actively preserve the richness of Baila traditions. Roy Castelino commended Vincent Fernandes for his continued dedication to Konkani entertainment, noting that such creative platforms are essential for keeping the language and cultural heritage vibrant.
Vincent Fernandes welcomed the dignitaries, while Vincent Mendonca delivered the vote of thanks. Lavita D’Souza compered the ceremony.
Eight dynamic pairs have qualified for the grand finale:

The grand finale is scheduled for Sunday, September 13, from 5 pm. The winning couple will be crowned Baila King 2026 and Baila Queen 2026 and will take home a prize package worth Rs 1,00,000. The first and second runners-up will receive prize packages worth Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000, respectively.
