Udupi: Independence Day celebrated at Madhava Kripa School

Udupi, Aug 18: Madhava Kripa School celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour, enthusiasm and joy. The chief guest, Dr K Sreedhara Ranganath Pai, administrative officer, Academy of General Education, hoisted the National Flag.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Sreedhara Ranganath Pai highlighted the significance of Independence Day and urged students to become responsible citizens by caring for the environment and keeping their school and homes clean. He encouraged them to develop the habit of meditation, treat everyone equally, respect teachers and elders, and conserve natural resources such as water and electricity by incorporating good values into their daily lives.

As part of the celebrations, a prize distribution ceremony was held to honour students who had excelled in various fields. This was followed by a vibrant cultural programme showcasing patriotism, national unity and love for the country. The students presented a variety of patriotic songs, dances and entertaining performances that captivated the audience.

The programme began with a welcome address by principal Swathi Kulkarni. Vice principals Kasturi Kamath and Jyothi Santhosh, and headmistress Asha Nayak were present on the occasion.

The programme was compered by students Anusha Chowdhary and school captain Anshel Sheron, Aavani Harinee Garg shared her thoughts on the significance of Independence Day, while Reyansh proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was coordinated by teachers Santhan Asha and Usha Kiran.
