Mangalore, Aug 15: The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with great fervour and patriotism at the Srinivas University Pandeshwara campus on August 15.

The esteemed chief guest for the event, Dr Ajay Kumar, development registrar of Srinivas University, unfurled the national flag. In his address, he emphasised that we are the happiest people because we have the freedom of expression. He urged the next generation to create an economically, technically, and socially developed India, as a tribute to the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters.

Dr Trishala Noronha, dean, Institute of Physiotherapy, Prof B Prashanth Prabhu, dean, Institute of Hotel Management & Tourism, Dr Pranjali Mhatre, dean, Institute of Occupational Therapy, faculties were present.

Dr Venkatesh Amin, dean, Institute of Management and Commerce welcomed the gathering, Dr Padmanabha C H, dean, Institute of Education delivered the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Prof Usha.
