Mangaluru, Aug 14: Lourdes Central School hosted the premiere of its patriotic music video ‘Amar Rahe Tiranga’ at the LCS Summit Hall on Friday, celebrating the spirit of freedom, unity and national pride.

The programme was presided over by Fr Praveen Leo Lasrado, secretary of the Catholic Board of Education. Fr Stany Pereira, manager of the school; principal Fr Johnson L Sequeira; Fr Anil Fernandes, director of the Canara Communication Centre; vice principal Anita Thomas; teachers, parents, students and media representatives were present.

Speaking about the journey of the music video, principal Fr Johnson L Sequeira said the project began with the idea of using the school’s facilities and talents to create something meaningful for society. The idea was developed with Roshan Cordero, who composed the music, while Hindi faculty member Henry Mascarenhas penned the lyrics.

Despite challenges posed by continuous rain and holidays, the team successfully completed the outdoor shooting in and around Mangaluru in a single day. The project brought together the talents of teachers, non-teaching staff and students, with students participating in the dance sequences and staff lending their voices to the song.

Henry Mascarenhas, speaking about writing the lyrics, recalled how Roshan guided him in adapting the words to musical rhythm and meter. He expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to bringing the song to life and praised principal Fr Johnson for giving the project its larger vision.

The music was recorded at the school’s state-of-the-art Nadaswara Studio by Raynal Sequeira, while Vinaya and her team contributed to the choreography. Student Thanvi G Shetty also shared her experience of being part of the making of the music video.

The project stands as a collective expression of the creativity, teamwork and patriotic spirit of the Lourdes Central School community.
