Mangaluru, Aug 7: Following the overwhelming success and record-breaking runs of its previous seasons in Mangaluru and Udupi, the iconic Konkani musical franchise 'Sumadhur' is back with its highly anticipated third edition.
Organized by the Sumadhur Music Academy, 'Sumadhur 3' will take place on Sunday, November 1, at the St Agnes Special School Ground in Mangaluru. Gates will open at 5:30 pm for an unforgettable evening celebrating music, passion, and local talent.
A trailblazer in the Konkani music industry
Designed by Konkani’s leading vocalist Joshal D'Souza and her dedicated team, Sumadhur is more than a concert—it is a cultural movement. The debut season at St Agnes Auditorium set a new benchmark by reviving ticketed shows. Sumadhur has given over 200 budding young talents and academy students the platform to perform live before massive audiences, effectively bridging the generational gap and nurturing the next wave of Konkani musicians.
A legacy of impact and entertainment
Building on the foundation of season 1, Sumadhur 2 in Udupi—initiated alongside the Catholic Sabha Udupi Central Council under the leadership of past president Ronald Almeida—made history in the region. The show raised an unprecedented Rs 1 crore dedicated to the developmental work of Goretti Hospital, a record that still stands in the coastal Konkani music industry. The event entertained a staggering crowd of over 5,000 music lovers, cementing Sumadhur’s status as a powerhouse live spectacle.

This year's high-voltage spectacle promises a rich blend of soul-stirring melodies, energetic stage performances, and special appearances by renowned guest artistes alongside Joshal D'Souza herself. In addition to the musical lineup, the event will host a special graduation ceremony, honouring the students of Sumadhur Music Academy with official certificates and medals for their dedication and artistic achievements.
