Kadaba, Jul 27: A lovers' quarrel over a trivial issue ended with a car key being thrown into a roadside drain, forcing a youth to spend hours searching for it near Santekatte in Kadaba.

A youth from Eshwaramangala had arrived in Kadaba in his friend's car. He had gone to the first floor of a private office near Santekatte to wish his girlfriend, who worked there, on her birthday. During the visit, the couple reportedly got into an argument over an undisclosed issue.

As the argument escalated, the enraged woman allegedly snatched the car key from the youth and threw it from the first floor into the drain below. The key fell into the drain filled with dirty water and slush and could not be found.

Unable to move the car, the youth began searching for the key. The unusual sight of him looking for the key inside the drain in a busy area attracted the attention of passersby, who gathered out of curiosity. Local residents later joined the search, clearing bushes and vegetation around the drain to help locate the missing key.

Despite a continuous four-hour search that lasted until around 7.30 pm, the key could not be found. The youth eventually left the car at the spot and returned home by auto-rickshaw.

A video of the search operation has since gone viral on social media, triggering widespread discussion among the public.
